Requirements for Dog-Handlers and Rescue Dogs
The Dog-Handler should:

Treat all persons involved in a search and rescue operation with respect & mindfulness.

Be member of a rescue organization which is recognized by ICAR.

Responsible for being suitably, qualified, fit and capable to undertake the tasks required for the specific search operation.

Have gone through the mountain rescue training of their organization.

Be available for his/her rescue organization in search operations, rehearsals and training.

Respect their own home nations laws, rules and regulations.

Ensure good health and welfare of their search dogs.

Be responsible for the safety and welfare of themselves and others; including appropriate emotional support and encouragement.
The Rescue Dog should:

Be suitably qualified, fit and capable to undertake the tasks required for the specific search operations.

Have good social behavior and not being aggressive against other dogs, human beings or live stock.
